Les Baux-de-Provence. A beautiful ancient town in Provence in the Apilles Mountains. Set atop a rock outcrop with its ruined castle. Bauxite (aluminum ore) was discovered here in 1821. One of the most beautiful villages in France; only has 22 permanent resisents in the upper region.
Years ago, when I was just a young guy tending bar in New York City, I befriended the author Kurt Vonnegut. During a night of riotous drinking, he introduced me to the artist Nicademis Hufford. They became like older brothers to me. Later on Nick, in his attempt to prod me, jokingly said "Bill, if you want to hang with us, you should either learn how to write or paint." Thank you Nick. P.S. -- Any of my art that you purchase will not have the Fine Art America Stamp on it. Bill All images are copyright © Bill O'Connor. All materials contained may...

I'm LOVING this new direction, Bill, and the pastel is a gorgeous medium, very luscious in response, much like my fav charcoal.....and what's also interesting is these two/three latest, the figurative very 'new' in organic approach, and the minimals, so 'more' ! Compliments, fv..........VIVA..............(my traubador has stopped serenading, sigh....................)
Bill OConnor replied:
thanks Viva -- just going with the flow, enjoying it. Re the traubador, desole: just pop in some good cds and dance.
