About Bill OConnor
Years ago, when I was just a young guy tending bar in New York City, I befriended the author Kurt Vonnegut. During a night of riotous drinking, he introduced me to the artist Nicademis Hufford. They became like older brothers to me. Later on Nick, in his attempt to prod me, jokingly said "Bill, if you want to hang with us, you should either learn how to write or paint." Thank you Nick. ' After many years of owning restaurants in New York, and my subsequent career in the legal profession, I realized that I enjoyed painting above all else -- I hope you enjoy my work. P.S. -- Any of my art that you purchase will not have the Fine Art America Stamp on it. Bill All images are copyright © Bill O'Connor. All materials contained may...

Dave --thanks again!! Years ago (many) a great man named George Darcy (probable designed the most bars/restaurants/clubs in NYC history took me under his wing. One of his creations was the new Cotton Club on 125th Street in Harlem. As a passing suggestion, I boldly suggested that the "back bar" might just "jump" with a 40-foot mural of America's jazz greats. He just said "hhmmmnn." And don't you know......
