Bill I love the way the lines draw me around the scene ... and as always with your wonderful artwork ... wonderful story being told. I read the comments ... and understand the sense of sadness and yearning I felt as I came into the image. Beautiful ... beautiful. I wonder ... did she ever have a chance to return? l/f t p

Bill OConnor replied:

hi Lois - Mom returned once in 1979 with my dad - they were both from County Kerry (Abbeyfeale and Kilorglin) thanks for the query - Bill

The compelling flat cubist perspective in these magical works creates a unique universe, Bill.

Also, that you 'date' this to that moment, in life, so young and unprepared, to have to go forth, but sadly, to leave behind, all, though little they know at that age, and Marie would thank you, for knowing and loving her enough to create this monumental recording of that monumental moment for her......V.

Bill OConnor replied:

thanks for all this Viva -- Mom left the West of Ireland on a May morning in 1930 -- she was only 16-years old -- I still miss her everyday.

Beautiful, I say first, then to add, how fascinating that you really can evoke the 30's so precisely, and the nostalgia plays on every nerve to elicit that certain feeling only this can call forth, Bill. I just love this, all of it........palette,lovely but sad/beautiful dreamer, the sea,the interior......all just so wonderful, and as always,I so admire your 'marks', how you paint, your touch.........Kudos,compliments,wows, f.v....VIVA
