Very clever use of colour to evoke the feeling of being lost, isolated and sad. I have so enjoyed looking through the variety of work in your galleries, Bill. Great work! L/F

This picture is showing that terrible blurring sense of being in pain...heart pain. A shadow of our energy and though it contains a lot of vibrancy and colours in it...may be one should get closer to this soul. I love it. Rosa
Bill OConnor replied:
thanks, wonderful observations Rosa. Sorrow, when we keep holding on; saying to ourselves "I must go on."

In the thumbnail, I thought you chose 'gray' for the figure and I thought it the perfect color of sorrow... but once enlarged, I see ALL the Fantastic Colors that make up the silhouette and realize~ it's even more appropriate and Beautiful!! The orange reminds me of the last of the sun's glow... so fitting too.. Wonderful Work Bill!
Bill OConnor replied:
Danielle -- it is such a meaningful pleasure when another artist really gets into a piece of mine. Your comments are so appreciated!!

I love this work, Bill. The colors, textures, and composition are marvelous. The emotion you have captured is superb. There is an Edvard Munch quality to this work.
Jacqueline McReynolds
So unique Bill. That empty space, that human shape of the negative space speaks so quietly and so loudly the sadness of this work. Powerful. v/f
Bill OConnor replied:
Jacqueline -- good observations Jacqueline! We all take our turns with sadness.

Bill OConnor replied:
Lenore -- thanks for that! An elderly neighbor had recently lost her life partner.

This makes me sad, although very well done. It gives me pause to think of my dad at 92...........all his friends are gone. I'm all he has left.
Bill OConnor replied:
Vicki -- yes, a reminder to all of us -- there is ALWAYS time in our day to be there for them.
