About Bill OConnor
Years ago, when I was just a young guy tending bar in New York City, I befriended the author Kurt Vonnegut. During a night of riotous drinking, he introduced me to the artist Nicademis Hufford. They became like older brothers to me. Later on Nick, in his attempt to prod me, jokingly said "Bill, if you want to hang with us, you should either learn how to write or paint." Thank you Nick. ' After many years of owning restaurants in New York, and my subsequent career in the legal profession, I realized that I enjoyed painting above all else -- I hope you enjoy my work. Nikki -- thank you and your "Jug and Fruit"and "Oranges" have a wonderful Cezanne effect. Sven --I found your "Frisky" popping. I think putting checks in a painting adds so much. BTW -- in the early 1980s I owned a big (10,000 Sf) Rockabilly Club in New York City -- many of the biggest names in country and western music played there -- it was a blast.
